VAC Executive Board Members
Emily Finch, President:
Emily Finch, originally from Abingdon, MD, transferred to the U of A last fall to continue her education in Human Development and Family Sciences. After two years in community college, Emily decided to take a year off to serve in AmeriCorps NCCC, which gave her the opportunity to travel and discover her passion to serve. The Volunteer Action Center has allowed her to continue chasing her bliss while gaining valuable leadership experience. One of her biggest dreams is to earn her master's degree from the Clinton School of Public Service to help her further pursue a career with the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Brittany Miller, Vice President:
"A dream is a creative vision for your future, so DREAM BIG." This is a quote Brittany N. Miller, a senior, lives by. After receiving her bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development she plans to obtain her medical degree. Her main goal is to raise a generation of compassionate youth, to ignite and leave a legacy of compassion in the hearts of people: "Compassion is a call, a demand of nature, to relieve the unhappy as hunger is a natural call for food." She is currently waiting to see what else GOD has in store for her life.
Peyton Baker, Treasurer:
Peyton is a junior at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Biology. He is very involved in other programs on and off campus. In addition to his on campus role as VAC treasurer, Peyton is also a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, as well as the volunteer co-chair of Alpha Epsilon Delta (pre-med honor society), elections commissioner for ASG, and VP for the U of A’s CBCO RSO. Off campus, Peyton volunteers weekly at the Washington Regional Hospital. With any spare time he loves doing everything outdoors, enjoying beautiful Arkansas. Peyton loves being a part of the VAC, helping others get involved with volunteering, and help spread the word of opportunities around the area.
Madison Alexander, Secretary:
Madison is a Senior from Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She is majoring in Environmental Science Birth to Kindergarten. Madison is passionate about volunteering and loves seeing how much you can impact a person’s life, just by helping out. She also is a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
Holly Hilliard, PR/Marketing Director:
Holly is a junior Industrial Engineering major from Little Rock, Arkansas who enjoys staying very active on campus! In addition to the VAC, Holly serves on Exec for her sorority Pi Beta Phi, and is a member of the university's chapter of Alpha Pi Mu, an Industrial Engineering honor society. In her free time she enjoys playing golf, going to the lake, and just hanging out with friends. Her favorite quote is by Harriet Truman and it reads, "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." This is what she loves most about the VAC--It is made of students who have come alive and have a passion for service. She is so grateful for her time spent on the VAC Board so far, and she can't wait to see what this year has in store!
