The University of Arkansas is now a CGI U Network member, providing the opportunity for U of A students to submit their own Commitments to Action: "a specific plan of action that addresses a pressing challenge on campus, in the community, or around the world," that is a prerequisite for attending the CGI U Annual Meeting. In addition, the university is able to provide mentorship and seed funding to innovate student leaders with the desire to improve the lives of others locally and around the world.
According to the Clinton Global Initiative University, "CGI U is a growing network of global young leaders. Through year-round partnership building, commitment development, and networking opportunities, CGI U builds awareness and generates support for the work of students, youth organizations, and the ever-growing CGI U community around the world. Throughout the year, participants report back to CGI U about commitment progress and connect via online communities and in-person meet-ups. Some commitment-makers continue their engagement by serving as CGI U Campus Representatives or Commitment Mentors."
