Get Your 10

In an effort to expand the reach of the Volunteer Action Center and promote community service among University of Arkansas Students, the Center for Community Engagement is launching a community service campaign called “Get Your 10”. The purpose of this campaign is to encourage University of Arkansas students to perform at least 10 hours of volunteer service in an academic year. Students who achieve 10, 25, 50, 75, and 100 volunteer hours are recognized in the form of awards and a VAC membership card to receive perks from local businesses.

Signature Events

Volunteers can make a difference in the community by signing up for Make A Difference Day on GivePulse. Students will sign up for projects with local agencies and will receive a t-shirt, meal, and are invited to attend a concert after volunteering as a way of saying thank you to those who have given back to their community.

Hogs Care Week is an event that positively impacts our campus community. This event is a week of random acts of kindness and a social media challenge for us to spread kindness to friends and strangers alike. Using the #HogsCare hashtag, students can post their random acts of kindness on social media to spread these impacts and encourage others to do the same.

Agency Resources

Student volunteers are a valuable resource for local agencies. To help agencies more effectively recruit, retain, and manage volunteers, our team has put together frequently asked questions, the U of A academic calendar, information about agency training sessions, and sample volunteer applications, descriptions, and agreements.
